DESCRIPTION:This seminar is open to veterinarians\, veterinary technicians\, veterinary hospital staff\, and veterinary students only. \nCourse Description\nWith the increase in antibiotic resistance in both humans and animals\, especially methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus\, we need to be better stewards of antibiotics while still treating pyodermas. In this course\, we will discuss when to perform cultures and sensitivities\, appropriate antibiotic usage\, and alternatives to oral antibiotics to treat resistant infections. \nThis webinar is geared for small animal practitioners. \nThis course satisfies the one hour of California CE requirement on the judicious use of medically important antimicrobial drugs. \nSpeaker\nAndrea Cannon\, DVM\, DACVD \nDr. Andrea Cannon received her DVM degree from UC Davis in 1993 and completed a residency in veterinary dermatology in 1996. She owned Animal Dermatology & Allergy\, Inc. until July of 2021 and is now working in Boise\, Idaho. Dr. Cannon is a full member of the American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology.
