DESCRIPTION:Please join us for 4 info-packed meetings with time for your questions. You need only register once and you’ll get a confirmation email with a single link you can use to log on each time. \nAll huddles start at 12n Pacific. They will be 20-minute presentations followed by 30 minutes for Q+A. \nOn September 21\, Dyanna Uchiek (Portsmouth Humane) and Sandra Solis (Best Friends for Life) will be presenting on the following Return to Home practices: \n4. Organization embraces a culture of Return to Home \n\nStaff/volunteer position dedicated to pet reunification is created or expanded\nOrganizations create internal SOPs\, tracking system and Return to Home goals\nStaff/volunteers are recognized/rewarded for successful reunifications\nLOS and cost of care for strays vs. cost of returning in field is recorded\, analyzed\nand shared\nStories of successful reunions are shared with team\, stakeholders and\ncommunity members\nEvery member of organization is trained in lost and found practices (e.g.\,\nMaddie’s University Lost Pet Reunification course)\nLost and found practices are discussed at time of adoption or Return to Home\,\nincluding species-specific information\nReturn to Home policies include keeping/returning Community Cats to their\nenvironment\n\n5. Organization works with community to help facilitate Return to Homes \n\nPartnerships exist with local businesses (e.g.\, veterinarians\, pet supply stores)\,\ncommunity centers and churches and other partners\nVolunteers in high stray intake areas foster lost animals and help look for owners\n“Finder to Foster” programs are implemented and used before animals are\nbrought to shelter\nUtilities companies help find contact information for owners\n\nUpcoming: \nWednesday\, September 28\nRegulations and laws encourage Return to Home / Other\nWith Glenda Davis (Animal Rez-Q\, Inc.) and Mike Wheeler (Cabot Animal Support Services) \nWEBSITE LINK:  https://maddies.fund/RTHChallengeRegistration
