SUMMARY:Webinar - 7/29/25 - State of the Art Return-to-Home Tools - CalAnimals
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to promote community-based lost pet reunification\, reduce the number of stray animals entering your shelter\, and identify owners of lost pets even without identification! \nDocuPet has designed and is now offering progressive tools to help pet owners find their lost pets prior to a finder having to bring them to the shelter or an ACO being called for a loose stray animal. Additionally\, DocuPet has designed a Pet Record Search Tool that participating animal control agencies and shelters can access to help identify a pet owner\, even if the pet does not have a tag number or microchip. \nBoth of these tools are available to all pet owners and agencies at no cost. \n● For those agencies who use DocuPet as their licensing provider\, this is an enhancement to your current services (at no charge) and will help to increase your license compliance rates.\n● For those agencies who do not provide licensing services and/or do not use DocuPet as their licensing provider\, these tools are available to you at no charge. \nThere is no catch! Come learn how to get these tools up and running at your organization immediately and be part of a state-wide initiative to decrease the number of lost/stray animals entering our shelters! \nPresenter: Jackie Rose\, JD\, MS\, CAWA–DocuPet Chief Strategy Officer \nWEBSITE LINK: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/eTRfLc3oQ_qpluvCiCOlHA#/registration

SUMMARY:Webinar - 7/29/25 - What’s Working – and What’s Next: Strategic Funding for Free-Roaming Cat Impact - United Spay Alliance
DESCRIPTION:Across the country\, dedicated funders and organizations have invested significant time and resources in spay/neuter\, TNR\, and colony care to improve the lives of free-roaming cats. But after years of hard work\, it’s time to ask: Are we making the most of our efforts? Are today’s strategies achieving the scale of impact we need – or is there a better way to help even more cats? \nJoin us on Tuesday\, July 29 for a live webinar with the authors of the new report\, Free-Roaming Cat Management: A Funder’s Guide to Better Impact\, commissioned by the Summerlee Foundation. This timely report takes a step back to assess where we’ve been\, what’s working\, and how we can align our resources for even greater results. \nLearn what the research tells us\, explore key recommendations\, and consider how the animal welfare field can move forward – together – with renewed clarity and purpose. \nBring your questions and join the conversation about where we go from here. Read the full report at TheCatReport.org \nTHIS SESSION WILL BE RECORDED. \nSpeakers: \nJohn D. Boone\, Ph.D. – Wildlife biologist with the Great Basin Bird Observatory in Reno NV\, specializing in the conservation and ecology of western birds. He has served as board chair of the SPCA of Northern Nevada for most of the past 24 years and has been a board member of the Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs since 2010. John has consulted on nearly 100 projects across the globe focused on the humane management of free roaming dogs and cats. \nStacy LeBaron – A leading voice in community cat management with over 30 years of experience in animal welfare. She is the founder of the Community Cats Podcast and co-creator of the Community Cats Program Management Certificate course at the University of the Pacific. Stacy also co-owns the Community Cat Clinic in Georgia and serves as treasurer and director of strategy for United Spay Alliance. Her work focuses on empowering grassroots efforts and designing sustainable\, data-driven programs to reduce cat overpopulation. \nWEBSITE LINK: https://www.unitedspayalliance.org/webinar-whats-working-and-whats-next-strategic-funding-for-free-roaming-cat-impact/

SUMMARY:Webinar - 7/29/25 - Caring for Each Other: What to do if ICE comes to your vet clinic - MCVMA and AAVMP
DESCRIPTION:In the current tumultuous political climate\, knowing our rights and caring for our communities is more important than ever. The increased abductions and deportations happening by Immigration and Customs Enforcement have been tearing apart families and communities. These deportations are targeting BIPOC\, primarily affecting Latinx and Asian-American communities. Veterinary medicine is not immune to the impacts. Our colleagues\, employees\, clients\, and patients can all be affected. Aside from the devastating human impacts\, pets could be separated from their family members with no warning or ability to plan for their care. This could lead to increased strain on shelters and rescues\, increase barriers to accessing veterinary care\, and lead to the loss of some of our most vulnerable veterinary colleagues. Knowing our rights can help us protect each other. \nJoin us for a live presentation by the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project\, hosted by the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association and the Association of Asian Veterinary Medical Professionals: \nRegister here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/6317513410672/WN_2QsiDAgfQXypMQhisY3mVg
