DESCRIPTION:On this week’s CASCAR call\, Jace Huggins from the Front Street Shelter in Sacramento will be describing how they’ve partnered with their local public health department to get vaccine information out to the community (in five different languages!) where it is most needed\, in conjunction with the team’s regular activities in the field. I LOVE this on so many levels – showcasing the shelter’s commitment to “both ends of the leash\,” building trust with local communities\, allowing field officers (most of whom are already vaccinated) to be able to share their direct experience. As we’ve found with so many other things in animal welfare\, no amount of preaching and teaching will replace one on one human connection. And this collaboration has already led to some exciting future collaborative plans…so hope you can join us to hear all about it and ask questions. \nAnd a heads up: after next Thursday’s call we will be shifting to the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. starting on April 6th.
