SUMMARY:Webinar - 4/16/21 - An Evidenced-Based Comparison: Alfaxalone vs. Propofol - Think Anesthesia
DESCRIPTION:Think Anesthesia® live\, interactive webinar\, An Evidenced-Based Comparison: Alfaxalone vs. Propofol\, presented by Amanda M. Shelby\, VTS (Anesthesia & Analgesia) on Friday\, April 16th\, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. PDT | 12 p.m. CDT | 1:00 p.m. EDT provides the audience an evidence-based review of literature comparing the chemical/pharmacological properties of alfaxalone and propofol and the clinically appreciable similarities and differences. SUMMARY:Webinar - 4/15/21 - Permission\, Not Permissive - Suzanne Clothier (fee applies)
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered how to be positive in your training and relationship with dogs\, and yet not end up just being run over or dragged here & there? \nIt can be really challenging to find the balance between positive and pushover. It all comes down to understanding the different between permission and being permissive. \nThis webinar tackles the confusion\, and gives you some practical solutions that are simple and effective. Dogs appreciate the clarification! And you’ll learn how to be fair and consistent without having to harden your heart\, deprive or ignore your dog. \nWe’ll cover: \n\nExplicit\, implicit or complicit?\nWhat does your dog believe?\nSetting boundaries & non-negotiables\nCompromise & criteria\nNow/not now exercises\n\nIt can be so disheartening to hear a trainer tell you\, “Oh you’re just too soft on that dog” or “Just make him do it” or “Never say NO!” Confusing\, isn’t it? SUMMARY:Webinar - 4/15/21 - Chill out – incorporating conditioned relaxation techniques into behavioral therapy - Dr. Christopher Pachel - Dog iBox (fee applies)
DESCRIPTION:Tension\, stress\, and hyperarousal are common obstacles for successful treatment of fear\, anxiety\, and aggression problems in dogs. Video examples will be provided to illustrate key points that maximize the success of this technique. Practical applications for incorporating this exercise into treatment plans for a variety of behavioral diagnoses such as noise phobia\, resource guarding\, and leash reactive behaviors will also be covered. \nWEBSITE LINK:  https://www.dog-ibox.com/market/catalog/live-webinars/live-webinars-english-c-34/chill-out-incorporating-conditioned-relaxation-techniques-into-behavioral-therapy.html

SUMMARY:Online Course - Open 4/13/21 to 5/7/21 - Responsible Antimicrobial Use 2021 - VIN (fee applies)
DESCRIPTION:Antimicrobial resistance is an increasing problem in both human and veterinary medicine. Whenever an antimicrobial is used\, it inadvertently selects for resistance by killing or inhibiting sensitive bacteria and leaving behind resistant organisms. As a result\, medicines become ineffective and infections persist\, increasing hospital times\, cost and morbidity. Inappropriate antibiotic use can lead to superbugs that are difficult or impossible to treat with our current antibiotic options.
