Welcome to our Shelter Industry Events Calendar!
Here, you’ll find a variety of webinars, learning opportunities, online meetings, and national events focused on animal sheltering and related interests. While some events are hosted by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program, most are organized by other groups and agencies. Please note that being listed here doesn’t mean we’ve reviewed the material.
We’re here to provide you with a range of resources to help make your life easier. For more details about any event, feel free to contact the organizer directly (you’ll find their info in the event description). Community Cats Podcast, in partnership with Neighborhood Cats, will host our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Certification Workshop on Saturday, June 1, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM ET.
Session duration is 2.5 hours followed by optional 15-minute Q&A. Registration is $10 and includes access to the recorded session, handouts, and certificate, as well as access to a Facebook discussion group exclusively for trappers and folks actively engaged in community cat programs. The session is recorded and you can get certified a week after the session is held.
The TNR Certification Workshop is offered monthly. Anyone interested in attending can register at www.communitycatspodcast.com/GetTNRCertified.
This online workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to learn how to help outdoor cats and kittens stay safe and healthy during the cold winter months and all year long. From animal control to the general public, anyone with a passion for helping cats and kittens is encouraged to register and learn from trappers who have been in the field for more than 20 years.
The workshop covers best practices for TNR and colony management, including all planning and preparations for successful trapping, and colony care practices that will protect outdoor cats from harsh winter conditions. There will also be time for questions from attendees, which will be answered in real time by the experts from Neighborhood Cats. Bring your toughest questions!
All attendees will receive a certificate after taking a short quiz and gain access to an exclusive Facebook group to continue networking with other caregivers. Attendees will also receive extensive handouts, including the TNR Handbook by Neighborhood Cats.
The TNR Certification Workshop has been endorsed by the National Animal Care and Control Association (NACA), and continuing education credits are available for animal control professionals who attend.
