As follow up to the 2023 Access to Veterinary Care in CA Shelters survey, which documented the degree and impact of the veterinary shortage on shelter welfare and lifesaving, Drs. Hurley and Scarlett conducted a follow up survey to understand what factors attract (and repel) veterinarians from working in shelters. In this webinar, information from both state and national studies will be presented that highlight factors important to shelter veterinarians and provide shelter leaders with actions to improve their ability to recruit and retain veterinary professionals.
