In this two part webinar, participants will learn Trauma-Informed Care principles and how to apply them internally with staff and volunteers, and externally through engagement with their community.
Session one: The foundations of trauma-informed organizations
Trauma-informed approaches offer animal welfare organizations the possibility of increased resilience, inclusion, equity and staff well-being. But they can also feel daunting to implement, especially in these overwhelming times. This foundational workshop will invite attendees to consider why introducing trauma-informed approaches within their organizations is key to achieving their mission and how to get started.
Speakers: Jessica Dolce and Sarah Stewart
Session two: Cultivating the power of stories for community impact
Trauma-informed care principles can be used to increase our community impact. In this session, participants will be invited to consider how understanding the stories and lived experience of underserved communities can improve our community support programs and advance our field’s justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts.
Speakers: Tramaine El-Amin and Sloane Hawes
