Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. CVMA Presents (fee applies): This interactive course focuses on individual skill development in effectively managing challenging behaviors. There are three things we drive home in this course: respond to behaviors and not people, read and respond with rational thinking, and it is hard for us to learn new ways of reading and responding to behaviors we consider negative or challenging. This course gives you a toolbox of strategies to deal effectively with challenging behaviors.

Best Friends Presents (fee applies): The Principles of Contemporary Animal Services certificate course is a great way to develop an understanding of the animal services profession by learning about the field’s history, current state, and future possibilities.
PuppyWorks Presents (fee applies): We will review multiple aspects about separation anxiety including the why, the what, and the how to proceed. In addition, the considerable research about separation anxiety over the past 4 decades will be incorporated as it is extremely helpful in working with this very nuanced behavior issue.
