At the June 4 All Call, Rafael Castellanos (Pets for Life Coordinator, Ventura County Animal Services) and Ashley Anderson-Mutch (Senior Program Manager, Enforcement and Policy Reform, Pets for Life at Humane Society of the United States) will discuss strategies for establishing or expanding a strategic, sustainable community-based outreach program, whether rural, urban, or somewhere in between.

Maddie’s Fund Presents: Chris Luther will walk us through LHS’s new web portal for foster caregivers, which puts resources and important information at fosters’ fingertips; August Hutchins will tell us about Hillsborough’s foster volunteer committee, a group created with the goals of including fosters in foster recruitment, event planning, and foster engagement.

California for All Animals Presents: Join us as Sarah Aguilar shares the success of Santa Barbara County Animal Services’ Dog Day Trip program, which has significantly boosted dog adoption rates and volunteer engagement. Sarah will share practical steps for replicating the initiative, emphasizing community collaboration, effective marketing, and streamlined coordination, and talk about what they learned along the way to over 300 day trips a month.

Maddie’s Fund Presents: This lecture, designed for shelter staff and volunteers, including veterinary staff, is focused on noise fear in dogs with an emphasis on ways to recognize and treat this very common problem in dogs when they are in the shelter and how to set them up for success after adoption.

California for All Animals Presents: At the July 2 All Call, Dr. Jyothi Robertson (DVM, DABVP, Shelter Medicine) and Donell Randolph (Human Animal Support Services Coordinator) will present on Oakland Animal Services’ community clinics. 

VETGirl Presents: In this complimentary, 30-minute VETgirl–Elanco YouTube LIVE event, Dr. Michael Rossi, DVM, MNS, DACVD will review some of the understanding behind the management of skin lesions in chronic allergic disease. California for All Animals Presents: Effective shelter operations rely on a smooth integration between the impound process, the care animals receive while in the shelter and the adoption/placement process. Successful integration of these areas of the shelter relies on functional working relationships among the leadership. Pasadena Humane’s Chief Program Officer Chris Ramon and Chief Veterinarian and Animal Care Officer Dr. Maria Pyrdek have worked together for over two years to integrate these areas and look forward to sharing the challenges, successes and the on-going “experiments” to further streamline these areas resulting in happier, more productive teams, decreased length of stay and improved care for animals in the shelter. 

Maddie’s Fund Presents: Dr. Valerie Tynes of the SPCA of Texas will review the most common clinical signs of separation anxiety, some of the “red flags” in a dog’s history that suggest it may have a separation-related problem and how to accurately identify the problem. Some practical approaches to treatment will also be presented.

This discussion will dive into what we know, what we don’t know, and what we’re learning about cat-cat interactions in homes.
