Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. CVMA Presents: This course provides detailed information on emergency/critical care topics that can benefit you in everyday practice as well as during a disaster response. Course instructors are Drs Jamie Peyton, Jeannine Berger, Shari O’Neill, and Grant Miller.
First Responders Resiliency, Inc. Presents: This is a 4-hour pilot workshop designed for Animal Responders. Prepare to be rejuvenated and inspired as our Lead Instructor, Susan Farren, provides insight and awareness paired with relevant tools and practical techniques to combat and prevent the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Injuries (PTSI). Included will be a “working lunch” to allow for casual discussion and interaction.

PPG Presents (fee applies): A comprehensive LIVE, IN PERSON, (Not Virtual) 1-day workshop addressing multiple K9 behavior issues. Trish dissects the capabilities and limitations for different dogs, differing owner-family situations and trainers in the observation, analysis and solution planning for behavior problems.
HASS Presents: This webinar training will cover the causes and symptoms of compassion fatigue, and provide actionable advice to shift organizational culture, improve communication around compassion fatigue, and ultimately enhance resiliency in your organization. Attendees will come away with knowledge and skills to support themselves and their organizations in reducing compassion fatigue through open communication and intentional culture shifts.
CalAnimals Presents (fee applies): With overflowing kennels and longer lengths of stay, most shelters are seeing no shortage of behavioral challenges among dogs. The most concerning, of course, is aggression, and behavior expert Kelley Bollen will lead this session to take a deep dive into why dogs exhibit aggressive behavior, the different types of aggression we see in dogs, and what situations can trigger aggressive behavior.
