Great skills in ‘talking dog’ keep everyone safe and ensures that you can work efficiently when trying to get a dog to cooperate. In this webinar, Trish and Di will use pictures and videos to ‘develop your eye’ for canine body language so you can increase your understanding of what dogs are telling you.

AAWA and NEFHS Present: Animal welfare organizations are missing out on great adoptions due to outdated application requirements. This session will dive into the many ways that animal welfare inadvertently restricts marginalized groups, such as POC and those with disabilities, losing out on many wonderful adopters. 

Virox Presents: This presentation will discuss current trends in international companion animal transport, risks of importation to both animal welfare and public health, diseases of concern, and recommendations to mitigate the risk of unintentional infectious disease introduction and transmission.

Not surprisingly, clean mechanics are the key! We’ll train both cues without causing frustration or confusion. There will be simple step-by-step instructions. You can follow the steps at home in a very small space, with no special equipment. Then we’ll take the concepts outdoors into the big spaces of the real world.

FDSA Presents (fee applies): Choosing between shaping, capturing, luring, prompting, or modeling can be daunting. We know where we want to go, we just need to figure out how to get there! This webinar will explain these strategies, including the benefits and drawbacks of each, how to apply them effectively and how to transfer a cue to a learned behavior.

Banfield Presents: Conflict is something that, as much as we try, we cannot avoid because conflict comes up anytime your view differs from another’s — and humans are opinionated beings. While most of us have a strong reactions to conflict, including (but not limited to) fear; avoidance; and/or dread, conflict can also have positive impacts. It can allow for exploration of new and different ways of doing things resulting in better outcomes. When we think of the negatives of conflict it’s because of the emotions that conflict evokes — often making situations feel explosive. By learning how to step up to conflict and confronting it head on by using the right approach, you can turn conflict into a positive for both you and your team.

Think Anesthesia Presents: This lecture details fluid therapy for a variety of patients seen in a hospital setting. The learning objectives for this course include: review of physiology of fluids within the body, fluid therapy options, the decision-making process for choosing and using different fluids available (fluid type, fluid rate, fluid volume), fluid therapy as it pertains to blood pressure, and identifying complications associated with incorrect fluid use. Case examples will be provided for acute vs. chronic fluid loss and replacement, as well as an interactive poll regarding fluid therapy use in surgical cases.
