Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. University of Wisconsin and UC Davis Shelter Medicine Programs Present Shelter Medicine Rounds: Plan for 5/26/20 - Q&A and discuss animals testing positive for COVID. This group is made up of shelter veterinarians, shelter vet trainees, and upper level shelter leadership. If you know anyone that would like to be added to the national shelter medicine rounds email list to regularly receive scheduling updates and recordings moving forward, please have them email a request to be added to the email group to nationalsheltermedicinerounds@vetmed.wisc.edu.

Online Adoption Event – 5/27/20 to 5/31/20 – Find Love Online: Best Friends Virtual Super Adoption
Best Friends Presents: Join the Best Friends Network and our Lifesaving Centers for a virtual super adoption on May 27-31, 2020! The first of its kind, this national virtual event will gather adoptable animals from around the country into a central “venue” where adopters can browse, meet, and complete the check-out process in one sitting. The only thing that Network partners have to do is physically delivery or facilitate the pet’s pick up.

HSVMA and Maddies Fund Present: This Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association webinar will provide tips for new adoptive families dealing with potential separation anxiety issues as well as other transitional challenges, such as catching up on puppy socialization, changing dog walking schedules, or switching cat feeding times.

PetHub Presents: Gateway Pet Guardians has spent years working with low income families in the Metro East St. Louis area, providing supplies and services to families with pets. Community programming has been put in place to help families access these resources, overcoming obstacles such as affordability and access. Now, more than ever, low income families in communities all over the United States can use the support of animal welfare organizations due to the rippling effects of COVID-19. As we wade through these uncharted waters, we must consider how to modify existing programming and create new programming to help families care for their pets despite recent economic impacts. This webinar will focus on ways rescues, shelters, and animal welfare agencies can provide support to families experiencing hardship, with the goal of keeping pets out of the shelter system and in their homes with families that love them.
