Missouri Coalition of Animal Care Organizations Presents: Cat expert Stephanie Stryker will discuss deliberate and thoughtful housing ideas for ringworm cats inside the shelter so they are accessible and noticed by adopters. She’ll discuss how to market/counsel adopters on ringworm cats and what to do to set them up for success when they leave the shelter. Recommended treatments and our in-home care handouts will be included.

The AAWA and PetFinder Pro Present: The animal welfare field is fueled by compassionate individuals who share a deep love of animals. At the same time, that compassion has not always been extended to the other side of the leash. Fear and bias have created structural barriers to adoption, unequal access to pet care resources, and missed opportunities to accomplish our lifesaving goals. Together, we will learn how to identify outdated practices and policies while addressing the underlying, well-intentioned concerns that have kept them in place.

HSVMA Presents: During this webinar, Dr. Block will explore the financial barriers to obtaining veterinary care that many pet owners are facing. Several possible solutions will be considered.

FDSA Presents (fee applies): This webinar will review steps for appropriate introductions when adding a new pet, as well as interventions if they already live together. The goals here are to reduce stress, increase safety, and improve happiness for all species involved.

VETGirl Presents: In this complimentary VETgirl–Zoetis online webinar, Dr. Duncan X Lascelles, PhD, FRCVS, CertVA, DSAS(ST), DECVS, DACVS will discuss the role of inflammation in the chronic pain of OA in dogs and cats. He will also review the neurobiology of pain, and discuss how to improve pain control in companion animals through multiple modalities of analgesics, as well as looking at new targets for therapy.

The AAWA and NEFHS Present: The unintended consequence of reduced shelter populations has been an increase in placements of challenging dogs. We see success stories on social media and television shows, but is there more to the story? What is their quality of life – and that of their owners? Learn more about what effect these dogs are having on the families that love them and the communities they live in.

Pet Professional Guild Presents (fee applies): This talk will discuss the use of desensitization and counter conditioning along with their associated tools, for reducing a dog’s aggression caused by fear and/or frustration.

ASPCAPro Presents: With more shelters opening up to visitors, you’re likely placing more cats in new homes, and some of these cats may need some extra help with the transition. Join the ASPCA Learning Lab and colleagues in the field for a roundtable discussion where your questions will be answered via live Q&A. During this session, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with experts on methods that will help your shy and fearful feline friends feel at home wherever they are.
