Community programming has been put in place to help families access these resources, overcoming obstacles such as affordability and access. Now, more than ever, low income families in communities all over the United States can use the support of animal welfare organizations due to the rippling effects of COVID-19. As we wade through these uncharted waters, we must consider how to modify existing programming and create new programming to help families care for their pets despite recent economic impacts.
