Maddie’s Fund Presents: Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, animal shelter workers, volunteers and animal welfare leaders from across the country have been meeting every Monday morning – NEW TIME 8 AM PT/11 AM ET as of 9/23/20 – to discuss protocols, ideas, obstacles they’re facing and more.

Adisa Presents: Back by popular demand! Join us for a second session on how to strategically support the critical work of volunteers in animal shelters nationwide. As operations continue to evolve with the changing landscape of the Covid-19 pandemic, our ability to be nimble and engage volunteers in new and creative ways will be paramount to our success.

The AAWA and Petfinder Pro Present: This year has been unpredictable in many ways, but as we move towards the end of 2020 we can look ahead to how lessons and insights gleaned during a global crisis may help us shape a brighter future for animals. This presentation will cover some key marketing takeaways from our collective COVID-19 response, shining a light on practical examples and ideas to help us better connect with all facets of our communities; leverage the power of teamwork and information sharing; and craft a strategic approach that means we can handle whatever comes next! 

The AAWA Presents: We will explore the role psychoactive medications can play in the management of shelter animals’ behavior issues. Adopting out animals that are taking psychoactive medication can be challenging as potential adopters often have preconceptions. Shelter staff, including veterinarians, need to be prepared to navigate such adoption counseling conversations to make the right match.  Learn how to help adopters understand the full situation and their role in a successful outcome. Medication monitoring in the shelter and post-adoption support will also be discussed. This presentation is suited for veterinary, shelter, rescue, and animal behavior professionals. 

AmPa! Presents: The AmPA! weekly Maddie’s Instructor Summit offers shelters and rescues a chance to talk through the most current animal sheltering challenges! Topics will change each week. You’ll join Dr. Ellen Jefferson and the instructors from Maddie’s Lifesaving Academy, as well as other industry leaders, but, more importantly, you’ll be able to engage face to face (digitally!) with people like you. Because not feeling alone makes this work a lot easier.

KSMP Presents: Join us for a different kind of CASCAR (that’s right, this is new territory for us!), where we’ll go on a journey with one of Dr. Hurley’s mentors, the incredible Becky Margiotta (100,000 Homes Campaign, Skid Row School for Unleashing Large-Scale Change, Billion Institute), to find out which of the three main personas, hero, victim, villain, like to ride with us to work from time to time. (Don’t be shy, we all have uninvited carpoolers.)

This 4 session VIRTUAL workshop designed for all levels of shelter staff will cover advice to resolve common dog and cat behavior problems to prevent surrender, a behavior perspective on intake and adoptions, canine behavior evaluations and decisions-making, and behavior modification in the shelter. AAFP Presents (fee applies): The AAFP’s 2020 Virtual Conference will focus on diseases and disorders of the feline head and neck. A myriad of feline health conditions affecting systems of the head and neck, including neurology, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, respiratory, oncology, imaging, emergency and critical care, pain management, feeding tubes and more will be explored.
