Maddie’s Fund Presents: Maddie’s Fund, in concert with American Pets Alive!, hosts a weekly hour-long Zoom call for animal welfare workers and volunteers. While these calls started out as a response to COVID-19, it’s grown into so much more. These calls are a safe place to discuss uncomfortable topics, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond.

PPG Presents (fee applies): This course by Dr. Kristina Spaulding covers the basics of instrumental learning, the side effects and alternatives to punishment, the latest research on training methods and their impact on behavior and the biology of learning.

NACA/Justice Clearinghouse Presents: We’ll examine the hearings in which the public contests your agency’s administrative actions, how you can achieve a positive outcome, and tips to avoid expensive, time-consuming appeals to the courts.

CARE Presents: Join CARE’s Board Treasurer Kara Beverly lead a discussion around Housing. She will be joined by a Baltimore councilperson where they will talk about redlining, gentrification and how we can take action to change this racist trend.

CalAnimals Presents: If you are still on the fence about community cat programs (CCP), this is the session for you. We will discuss how CCPs can strengthen the shelter’s relationship with underserved communities, help with identifying the infrastructure needed to support a successful program, considerations for eligible cats, and everything you will need to know to safely return happy and healthy cats to their community.

This 4 session VIRTUAL workshop designed for all levels of shelter staff will cover advice to resolve common dog and cat behavior problems to prevent surrender, a behavior perspective on intake and adoptions, canine behavior evaluations and decisions-making, and behavior modification in the shelter. Best Friends Presents: During this townhall, our expert panel will discuss everything you need to know about kitten foster programs. We’ll share resources and proven strategies that can be adapted based on your organization’s needs – whether you are thinking about starting a new program or looking to enhance your current one. We’ll also briefly cover the benefits of participating in the Best Friends National Kitten Foster Campaign.

FDSA Presents (fee applies): Join aggression specialist Michael Shikashio CDBC in part one of this two-part series where he will cover common and not so common reasons dogs get into fights in the home, determining a prognosis for a likely outcome in a case, how to safely manage dogs with a history of conflict, and more.

FDSA Presents (fee applies): This webinar will build on the information from “Intra-Household Dog to Dog Aggression Part One” and will detail case studies and their successful resolution. It is highly recommended to watch part one in this series as the fundamentals of the behavior change strategies are explained and discussed.
