IAABC and FDSA Present (fee applies): Working together, IAABC and FDSA created The Lemonade Conference, a highly affordable online educational extravaganza of unprecedented size and scope. Now we’re back for a third year and we’ve stepped it up again! This year we have 50+ presenters and *THREE* rooms running simultaneously throughout the conference from 7 a.m. PST ’til 8 p.m. PST! 

First Responders Resiliency, Inc. Presents: This is a 4-hour pilot workshop designed for Animal Responders. Prepare to be rejuvenated and inspired as our Lead Instructor, Susan Farren, provides insight and awareness paired with relevant tools and practical techniques to combat and prevent the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Injuries (PTSI). Included will be a “working lunch” to allow for casual discussion and interaction.

Maddie’s Fund Presents: Maddie’s Fund, in concert with American Pets Alive!, hosts a weekly hour-long Zoom call for animal welfare workers and volunteers. While these calls started out as a response to COVID-19, it’s grown into so much more. These calls are a safe place to discuss uncomfortable topics, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond.

UC Davis KSMP Presents: We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a statewide initiative sponsored by Governor Newsom that will be a game changer for animal shelters in California. Pethealth Inc. Presents: Like most industries, the last three years of animal sheltering have been unprecedented. Your organization has been collecting data, but how does it compare to organizations in your community or across the country? How can we use this data to better plan for the future of animal welfare?

CARE Presents: CARE’s Senior Director of Research and Development, Mueni Rudd, will facilitate a conversation with our Black-led CARE Centers. They will address how we can improve Black communities’ access to local pet resources and how animal welfare can begin to acknowledge and repair harm with Black communities locally.

VETGirl Presents (fee applies for non-members): Karlene Belyea MBA will discuss how you can improve your thinking and productivity at work and at home. Learn how to get out of your reptilian brain, determine triggers, and develop strategies you can use every day that will make you happier, healthier, and more productive.

CalAnimals Presents: Managed and diverted intake is the process in which shelters are transparent with their community and empower their community to solve problems outside of the shelter’s walls by working together. Attendees will leave this session with an understanding of what managed and diverted intake is and isn’t, the rationale and benefits of the program, including resources for stray animals and owner retention.

This 4 session VIRTUAL workshop designed for all levels of shelter staff will cover advice to resolve common dog and cat behavior problems to prevent surrender, a behavior perspective on intake and adoptions, canine behavior evaluations and decisions-making, and behavior modification in the shelter.
