Webinar – 5/19/21 – Bringing Your New Dog Home – How to Promote a Successful Transition to Family Life! – PPG (fee applies)

Did you know that it can take anywhere from a couple of days to several weeks for you and your new dog to adjust to each other?

Although you have chosen this individual to join your family, the dog does not know that what is happening is something good, that he has a new family home. The dog is likely to be fearful, anxious, or stressed. This might manifest itself as lethargy or over-excitement. The dog might engage in distance-increasing behaviors. Triggers might stack up, making it difficult for the dog to cope.

In this presentation we are going to cover DogNostics’ recommendations for successfully introducing a new dog into your family, helping ensure that the transition into your home is as stress-free as possible for both you and your new family member.

Although the presentation is aimed at pet dog owners, it will also help pet professionals provide guidance to their clients, and shelters provide guidance to new adoptees.

Webinar – 5/26/21 – They’re Never Too Old! Senior Patient Anesthesia and Perioperative Management – Fear Free

Although age is not a disease, we do see increased co-morbidities and limited resilience in our older patients. Please join Ralph Harvey, DVM, MS, DACVAA, for a webinar examining best practices for these animals, which include use of readily available agents and techniques. Increased attention to detail and a respect for the fragile homeostasis brings clinical success and client appreciation.

    Attendees will learn:

    1. Techniques to avoid stress and the importance of minimizing the impact on the patient’s daily routine
    2. How to adopt a robust adaptable approach to out-patient anesthesia with senior patients, with your anesthetic protocols tailored to each patient
    3. That these patients and clients are among our best and most valued resources and how we can continue to foster that relationship and reinforce the bond by keeping the patient safe and comfortable before, during, and after each anesthetic event.
