    This is a 4 part series of live online webinars – 2 hours each Saturday in August.  The seminar will include Assessing Dog-Dog Reactivity and Interactions, Dog Play Dangers:  What to watch for at dog parks, daycare, shelters and among dogs at home, Managing in the Real World with a Reactive or Non-Reactive Dog, and Socialization Techniques for Puppies and Adolescents to Prevent Reactivity Before it Starts.

     SEMINAR PROGRAM

    All Segments are streamed live & online at the following U.S./ Canada times: 12:00 Noon (East coast); 11:00 AM (Central); 10:00 AM (Mountain); 9:00 AM (West Coast)

    • Each segment starts with Sue’s presentation of about 1 1/4 hrs. (75 min.), followed by a 15 minute “coffee break” and ends with 45 minute Q/A session during which Sue will respond to on-line attendee questions.
    • Attendees may submit videos (1 min. or less) of dog-dog encounters for Sue to comment on.
    • Attendees will be able to access a complete recording of each session they attend, for 1 year.

     SPEAKER PROFILE 

    SUE STERNBERG (www.suesternberg.com), is the  winner of APDT’s  2016 Lifetime Achievement Award.

    She founded the shelter featured in an  HBO documentary: Shelter Dogs (www.shelterdogs.org).  She has developed national programs, such as Training Wheels® for community shelter outreach and dedicated herself to ensuring the quality of life of animals in their communities, at animal shelters and in safe adoptions. Her 30 years of canine behavior experience, includes as an animal control officer, behavior consultant  at the ASPCA, shelter owner,  successful competitor in dog sports, and a teacher of dog trainers world-wide.

    She is the author of Great Dog Adoptions: A Guide for Shelters (Latham Foundation publication) and Successful Dog Adoption published by Wiley. Her most recent publications (all published by Dogwise) include Out and About With Your Dog, Dog-Dog Interactions,  Assessing Aggression Thresholds in Dogs and  Understanding Sociability (DVD).

    Dr Horwitz is a frequent lecturer on behavioral topics for veterinarians and pet owners in North America and abroad, and is often featured on television and radio.

    Deb is a behavioral consultant for the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), and has authored and edited several books and book chapters, including Blackwell’s Five-Minute Veterinary Consult Clinical Companion: Canine and Feline Behavior, which she co-authored with fellow veterinary behaviorist, Jacqui Neilson, DVM, DACVB. She is the sole author of the second edition. Her other works include the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Behavioural Medicine and LifeLearn’s behavior client handouts. Deb is also the lead editor of Decoding Your Dog, a book for pet owners authored by diplomates of the ACVB.

    Dr. Horwitz served as president of the ACVB from 2006 to 2008. She received the Veterinarian of the Year award from Ceva Animal Health during the Purina Pro Plan Show Dogs of the Year Awards in 2012, and was named Small Animal Speaker of the Year by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) in 2012 and 2014.

    Unbeknownst to you your dog spends all day looking out the window and barking! And the pulling on leash!  How to help owners get better control of their dogs’ behavior.

    Now that the two of you have been home all the time together parting may be problematic.  We will discuss separation anxiety and how some simple tasks may help prepare your dog for your return to the office.
