An understanding of pain physiology is fundamental to pain assessment and management. Join our next live Think Anesthesia® event, Understanding Pain and Nociception: Pathway and Assessment, on Friday, December 10th at 10am PST | 12pm CST | 1pm EST. Michele Barletta, DVM, MS, PhD, DACVAA will discuss the physiological processes of transduction, transmission, modulation, and perception, as well as the process and consequences of peripheral and central sensitization. The importance of the use of available pain scoring systems to aid in the recognition of pain and assessment of response to therapy will be discussed.
