Diverting kittens from the shelter is one of the best ways we can help this fragile population and engage the community. Attendees will leave this session prepared to have conversations with the public about when and why it is best to leave kittens with mom, assessing kittens to determine if they have been abandoned, when one should step up to help kittens and what that help should look like, and lastly how to properly age young kittens.
Relevant for: Supervisors, intake, staff taking calls from the public, staff handling returns, officers if picking up in the field
Duration: 1 ½ hours
