Webinar – 3/9/22 – Co-Sheltering Programs: keeping families and pets together – Maddie’s Fund

March 9, 2022 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM PST

Free

Co-sheltering, or the practice of housing humans and animals together at the same emergency or temporary facility, is essential to keeping families together and reducing service barriers for people experiencing homelessness. San Diego Humane Society’s Community Initiatives Specialist, Lauren Rogers, will facilitate a conversation with Jesse Casement, Division Director of Client Services at Father Joe’s Villages and Riley Yates, Animal Welfare Coordinator at GRACE Marketplace, who have each implemented co-sheltering programs at their respective homeless shelters. They’ll provide an overview of their programs, discuss navigating a staff culture shift and offer advice for animal welfare organizations seeking to partner with local providers.

After the webcast, join us on Maddie’s Pet Forum to continue the discussion and exchange ideas: https://maddies.fund/CoshelteringWebcast

This webinar will be recorded and has been pre-approved for 1.0 Certified Animal Welfare Administrator continuing education credits by The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement and by the National Animal Care & Control Association.
