Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. PPG Presents (fee applies): This webinar focuses on the needs of developing pup, and using appropriate stimulation to build resilience, confidence and normal behavior. Puppies who lack the necessary input can – and often do – develop behavior issues that will not be “fixed” through socialization and training.
Shelter Playgroup Alliance Presents: Learn about canine communication and behavior fundamentals at this day long workshop. If you are a shelter volunteers, administrator, or kennel staff, this pre-conference workshop is a great opportunity to take a deep dive into canine behavior.

VetGirl and Hills Present: In this complimentary VETgirl–Hill’s veterinary nutrition webinar, Dr. Sheri Ross, DVM, DACVIM, PhD discusses the management and treatment of urolithiasis in dogs and cats. Traditionally, uroliths have been managed with surgery. However, depending on location, size, number and composition of the uroliths, less invasive techniques may be equally as effective. Learn what options there are and how to help minimize recurrence of uroliths.
Maddie's Fund Presents: Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, animal shelter workers, volunteers and animal welfare leaders from across the country have been meeting every Monday morning at 7am PT/10am ET to discuss protocols, ideas, obstacles they’re facing and more.
National Kitten Coalition Presents - How much do I feed a kitten? How often? How much? How do I mix the formula? There are so many things to learn when it comes to feeding a tiny kitten. In this webinar we will teach you the basics on how to safely bottle-feed neonatal kittens and help them grow!
UW-Madison and UC Davis Shelter Medicine Programs Present: Weekly National Shelter Medicine Rounds. Topics will vary. Currently rounds are being held on Tuesdays at 1 PM Pacific, 3 PM Central. They will return to the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at some point in the future.
