This calendar is a listing of webinars, other learning opportunities, online meetings and other upcoming national events related to animal sheltering and related areas of interest.
Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. But this won’t be just a repeat of last year. We asked, you spoke and we heard what you wanted so Geek Week 2021 will include the fantastic upgrades you asked for.
Maddie's Fund Presents: Maddie’s Fund, in concert with American Pets Alive!, hosts a weekly hour-long Zoom call for animal welfare workers and volunteers. While these calls started out as a response to COVID-19, it’s grown into so much more. These calls are a safe place to discuss uncomfortable topics, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond.
IVS Presents (fee applies): Drs. Michael Lappin and Susan Little are two of the well-known feline interested veterinarians in North America. Dr. Little is board certified in feline medicine by the ABVP and owns two feline only practices in Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Lappin in an internal medicine specialist has been involved with feline clinical research ever since reporting the Toxoplasma gondii IgM and IgG tests in 1989.
IAABC Presents (fee applies): Jim Crosby is widely recognized as an expert in the field of dog bites, dog aggression, and fatal dog attacks. In this four-part course, Jim is sharing his hard-won knowledge and experience about dog aggression, bites, communication, and what we can do with all of this as we go through our personal and professional journeys through the canine world.
