While these calls started out as a response to COVID-19, it’s grown into so much more. These calls are a safe place to discuss uncomfortable topics, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond.
Loose Leash Academy Presents (fee applies): Michael Shikashio, CDBC and Trish McMillan MSc, CPDT-KA, ACCBC, CDBC will be presenting a two-day workshop on safety, defensive handling, and the behavior modification techniques used with aggressive dogs. NACA/Justice Clearinghouse Present: This webinar will talk about the history of the Community Cat Program at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) in Arlington, Virginia including where we were, where we are now, and how we got there. We will discuss how to garner successful support and buy-in for a jurisdiction-wide program, how to resolve the most common community cat conflicts, and what supportive needs arise during a TNR program.
CVMA Presents (fee applies): With the increase in antibiotic resistance in both humans and animals, especially methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, we need to be better stewards of antibiotics while still treating pyodermas. In this course, we will discuss when to perform cultures and sensitivities, appropriate antibiotic usage, and alternatives to oral antibiotics to treat resistant infections.
