Webinar – 9/28/21 – Are you ready for CATastrophe? – National Kitten Coalition

Disasters can affect anyone. Preparing to care for your family, pets, fosters, and shelter animals during and after an emergency is vital before the disaster hits.

This session will offer participants a brief overview of emergency planning and response for animal shelters, rescue groups, and foster parents, with a focus on considerations for kittens. It will cover common emergencies to prepare for, information on creating an emergency plan for shelters and foster homes in advance of a crisis, and agencies and organizations that can help with the process. We will also touch on the concept of community animal response teams and how you can join or create a team within your community.

Our speaker is Joanna Fortin, Director of Community Programs for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia.

Webinar – 10/13/21 – All About Behavior: How to Approach Behavior Cases in General Practice – HSVMA

As clinicians, we often see behavior issues in our patients. Sometimes clients come to us for advice, sometimes the client is not as aware of the issue as they should be. During this behavior webinar we will explore the process of diagnosing common behavior problems in dogs and cats and outline the steps needed when creating and implementing a behavior plan. We will discuss the difference between a primary behavioral problem and a training issue and which cases we should handle and which we should refer to a behaviorist.

Other topics Dr. Calder will discuss during this presentation include:

    • The various behavioral tools available to facilitate management
    • How to identify appropriate trainers and other certified professionals to aid in the treatment of behavior problems
    • Behavioral euthanasia and how to develop a prognosis

We hope you’ll join us for this important welfare-focused webinar.

  • Webinar – 9/30/21 – Top 3 Solutions to End Doorbell Pandemonium – Nancy Tucker – FDSA (fee applies)

Webinar – 9/30/21 – Top 3 Solutions to End Doorbell Pandemonium – Nancy Tucker – FDSA (fee applies)

The doorbell. Ugh. If anything can cause the most canine chaos with the least amount of effort, it’s the common doorbell or a knock at the door. That simple musical chime (or knock-knock) triggers barking, racing through the house, and crowding the entrance. Even when the sound just comes from the TV!

What follows is often the addition of human voices shouting over the noise in an unsuccessful attempt to quiet things down.

There’s a better way. No shouting, no diving for the mute button on the remote, no wading through barking, hopping dogs at the door.

In this webinar we’ll cover the top 3 approaches to curbing the chaotic response to doorbells or knocking, with the aim to restore peace and calm in your home, even when the UPS driver shows up.

Most of us know the overt signs of more extreme stress, but if you want to help your dog not get that stressed then you need to intervene early, and that means knowing it’s much more subtle signs! In this webinar we’ll go over signs of stress from the most overt to the most subtle, and consider strategies for lessening stress when it comes up from the environment and from your training choices.

  • Webinar – 9/22/21 – How to Build a Year-End Social Media Plan that Gets Results – Network for Good

Webinar – 9/22/21 – How to Build a Year-End Social Media Plan that Gets Results – Network for Good

The end of the year is swiftly approaching. You know what that means — giving season is almost here! So we ask the question, is your social media year-end ready?

Roughly seven-in-ten Americans use some kind of social media platform and about 30% of nonprofit website traffic comes from social media. And nearly one third (31%) of annual giving occurs in December. That’s why social media must be part of your year-end fundraising strategy.

With the focus often being on direct mail appeals at year-end, where does social media fit in? How can nonprofits cut through the year-end clutter, engage their donors, and raise more money – all without tech overwhelm or added stress?

In this webinar, digital fundraising expert Julia Campbell will show you her tried-and-true methods for creating a year-end social media plan that gets results and helps you achieve your year-end fundraising goals!
