Although intercat conflict is common in companion cats, it is often unrecognized because of the subtle signs that occur more frequently than hissing or fighting. Without addressing the intercat conflict, feline welfare is impaired. Learn the most recent information to detect intercat conflict, the interplay between mental and physical health and how to manage the distress in these patients. Although psychopharmacology is often recommended, it is most important to address the physical and social environment and identify whether medical management is needed.
During this presentation, attendees will learn:
- to identify the subtle signs of intercat tensions and conflict
- to recognize impaired welfare within companion cats
- steps for early introduction and management of intercat tensions
