Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. Maddie's Fund Presents: Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, animal shelter workers, volunteers and animal welfare leaders from across the country have been meeting every Monday morning - NEW TIME 8 AM PT/11 AM ET as of 9/23/20 - to discuss protocols, ideas, obstacles they’re facing and more.
National Kitten Coalition Presents: In rescue, almost by definition, we see kittens that face health challenges, including limb abnormalities. In the past, others simply said we cannot or will not help, but YOU can with a little knowledge, help from your veterinarian, and some elbow grease.
PPG Presents (fee may apply): What is habit, really? How does it impact behavior and how can we use it to improve outcomes? NACA/Justice Clearinghouse Present: Whether responding in the field to release an animal wrongly caught, guiding someone through it over the phone, or setting an animal free after translocation, this webinar will equip you with the basic steps to follow to not only successfully release, but to reduce stress and injury to the animal as well. How you approach and release an entrapped animal can greatly impact the level of stress and potential injury they experience. This webinar will provide instruction for how to release wrongly trapped animals (both domestic and wild) from trap types that include foothold, snares, body-gripping, and box or cage style in a variety of situations and in the most humane and least stressful manner possible. This webinar will also discuss developing an awareness of how these traps work and what tools and personal protection and precautions might be necessary.
Dogs Playing for Life Presents: In the first of three webinars, we will present powerful examples of how playgroups can not only enhance the quality of life for your shelter dogs but how focusing on their quality of life through enrichment can lead to game-changing benefits to your shelter’s everyday operations. Attendees will get to view dynamic video examples and impactful data and experiences from some of the nearly 300 shelters who have embraced the power of letting shelter dogs play!

The Bridge Club Presents: As we celebrate Veterinary Technicians Week - we dive into how the entire medical team, with an emphasis on the role of veterinary nurses and technicians play in the overall success of virtual care. We will be joined by both a private practice who has successfully implemented telehealth, a telehealth company that is staffed primarily by veterinary technicians and many others to share their stories and to celebrate the accomplishments of technicians!!
Winn Feline Foundation Presents: This presentation will review feline health from a preventive care perspective. A review of what is included in a minimum database along with newer diagnostic innovations will be discussed and conclude with a discussion on the valuable role the veterinary technician plays is promoting feline health. The AAWA and NEFHS Present: The NEFHS has served as a platform to discuss important issues impacting New England and the field of animal welfare for decades. Despite our track record of tackling difficult issues, this will be our first to facilitate a conversation that addresses the lack of People of Color (POC) within our field. This webinar series will also address the disproportionate, negative impact many organizational, local, and state animal welfare policies and practices have on POC. The NEFHS Board acknowledges the need for continued evaluation and learning for all of us, our Board included. It is important to prioritize this issue throughout the year, every year, until systemic racism no longer exists. The NEFHS is committed to providing resources to help you through this journey, through this webinar series and at our Annual Conference to keep us all moving forward. This series is open to all animal welfare employees and/or volunteers, which includes aimal shelters, animal control and rescues of all sizes.
