Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. American Pets Alive! Presents: Many animals are surrendered to shelters due to medical issues that families cannot afford. Most communities lack options for low cost, no-cost, or incremental full service medicine due to laws, vet associations, and lack of willing veterinary providers. Join members of the HASS External Facing Medical Care Working Group to reinvent financially based intake for medical cases, and to keep more people and pets together.
Code 3 Associates Presents (fee applies): This one day course will provide animal responders with the basic knowledge and safety skills needed to integrate with firefighters within the urban interface of Wildland Fire. It will also give seasoned firefighters insight for dealing with animal rescue during fire events.

Maddie's Fund Presents: Maddie’s Fund, in concert with American Pets Alive!, hosts a weekly hour-long Zoom call for animal welfare workers and volunteers. While these calls started out as a response to COVID-19, it’s grown into so much more. These calls are a safe place to discuss uncomfortable topics, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond.
