FDSA Presents: The term “separation anxiety” is familiar to most people who share their lives with dogs. It has been defined as a condition in which a behavior is exhibited when a dog is not able to access a preferred person. Regardless of the specific behavior — urination, destruction of furniture, or demolition of doorways — the “diagnosis” would be the same. New research suggests that these behaviors are not the same at all, and might therefore need to be treated differently. This webinar will discuss some current perspectives on this disturbing condition and introduce new concepts for management.
