This calendar is a listing of webinars, other learning opportunities, online meetings and other upcoming national events related to animal sheltering and related areas of interest.
Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. UC Davis KSMP Presents: In this one hour presentation, the PALS team will dive into why shelters are challenging the status quo, what we can and can't do (yup, let's talk about those premise permits), the tasks your key personnel are permitted to do and excluded from doing, and how you can use volunteer talent to support your medical team.
Pet Professional Guild Presents (fee applies): This talk covers the meaning of ‘aggression’ and explores the possible differentials for aggressive behaviour in dogs. Treatment of aggression is not discussed.
IVS Presents (fee applies): All the speakers have spent most of this year sitting in front of their laptop, presenting hundreds of webinar hours. As we finally say farewell to 2020, the speakers will discuss what they think were the most popular and practical topics they presented this year.

ASPCA Pro Presents: Join our experts as they discuss the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence, the impact it has on people, pets, and the community, and how you and your organization can better respond to allegations of both domestic violence and animal cruelty.
NACA/Justice Clearinghouse Presents: As leaders, it is our responsibility to grow teams with unique points of view to gain fresh ideas and perspectives and ensure growth, change, and continued success in our organizations. This session is designed to discuss how leaders within animal welfare can approach recruitment, retention, and promotion to foster a diverse team of subject matter experts to help take their organization to the next level.
FDSA Presents (fee applies): This webinar will review steps for appropriate introductions when adding a new pet, as well as interventions if they already live together. The goals here are to reduce stress, increase safety, and improve happiness for all species involved.
VETGirl Presents: In this complimentary VETgirl–Zoetis online webinar, Dr. Duncan X Lascelles, PhD, FRCVS, CertVA, DSAS(ST), DECVS, DACVS will discuss the role of inflammation in the chronic pain of OA in dogs and cats. He will also review the neurobiology of pain, and discuss how to improve pain control in companion animals through multiple modalities of analgesics, as well as looking at new targets for therapy.
