Only some of these events are produced by the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program. Most are being created and sponsored by other groups and agencies. Being listed here does not mean that we have reviewed the material contained. We are trying to provide a variety of resources to hopefully help make your life a little easier. FDSA (fee applies): Dr. Deb Jones will talk about the advantages of teaching a dog to be zen and demonstrate specific exercises that can encourage thought before action. In particular, Deb will focus on both the art and the science of zen work. A clear understanding of the major underlying scientific principles will be very helpful to excellent application and execution of the techniques.
VIN/VSPN Presents (for VIN members): Join Margie Scherk, DVM, DABVP (feline), as she presents "New Feline Tests: When to Use Them & When to Lose Them."

HSUS Presents: Join us for this webinar as we explore the life cycle of rats and mice and provide insight into their behavior, nesting and foraging that will help you advise and respond to the conflicts that people experience with them.
Maddie's Fund Presents: Care Pathways are standardized plans for animals that have the same type of condition. During this presentation, we’ll talk about care pathways regarding behavior and how we can utilize them pathways to improve our shelter behavior programs.
Shelter Behavior Hub Presents (fee applies): Are you interested in learning how to train dogs? Whether you are new to the field, or an old hand, this course takes you from recognizing and addressing stress in dogs through teaching dogs specific skills, and changing emotional responses.
Dog iBox Presents (fee applies): Although many questions are still to be answered, there is information available which can help inform our practice. This includes information which can support best practice in puppy classes as well as the advice we give owners and breeders regarding raising their puppies. This talk will examine some of the available literature from the perspective of what it might mean for what we do in practice.
